Emergency Rental Assistance Requirements
Calls for rent appointments are accepted on the 20th of the month for assistance for the next month. Please call and LEAVE A MESSAGE as early as possible on the 20th.
All paperwork must be filled out BEFORE scheduling your appointment. After paperwork is completes, call the Assistant Director at 903-753-3561, ext. 205 to schedule an interview. NO WALK IN INTERVIEWS FOR RENT.
- The following types of assistance are available:
- Partial Emergency Rent - assistance with current month's rent
- Partial Past Due Rent - assistance with previous month's rent
- Partial First Month's Rent - assistance with rent at new residence
- Cannot assist with any deposits
- Must have applied, paid deposits and been accepted to move into residence
- Must have a Longview address
- Cannot have ever received rental assistance from LCM
- May not have rent amount adjusted due to income (section 8 or subsidized rent_ - must be paying "market" rent
- Must have the following in hand when you come for your appointment
- Completed Rent Verification letter
- Photo ID
- Social Security cards for all members of the household
- Proof of income (last pay stub or copy of SSI) for all adult members of household
- Must be able to answer questions regarding expenses
