The Family Crisis Service Center assists families with food, shelter, utilities, transportation, fans, blankets, prescription, and special needs assistance.
In 2007, 10,314 families were served through the Service Center by a team of over 20 volunteer caseworkers per week.
These caseworkers are trained and supervised by LCM staff in providing budgeting and nutritional guidance and in identifying families that would qualify for established community/state programs. (i.e. Sliding scale low/no cost health insurance for children, further nutritional guidance for women and children, food stamps, GED counseling, parenting programs, ect.)
A part time Assistant Director supervises the work of the Service Center.
